About the Gallery
Maureen Paley gallery, established as Interim Art in 1984 in London's East End, changed its name in 2004. It has operated from a Bethnal Green space since 1999, with additional locations in Hove (Morena di Luna, opened 2017) and Shoreditch (Studio M, opened 2020). The gallery champions innovative artists across all media, including Turner Prize winners like Lawrence Abu Hamdan, Wolfgang Tillmans, and Gillian Wearing, as well as nominees such as Rebecca Warren and Liam Gillick. Its diverse roster includes artists like AA Bronson, Peter Hujar, and Hannah Starkey. Founder and director Maureen Paley, with a background in art history, has also curated significant public exhibitions, including "Wall to Wall" and "The Cauldron."
