About the Gallery
Experimenter, co-founded by Prateek and Priyanka Raja in 2009 in Kolkata, India, is a pioneering contemporary art gallery known for its multidisciplinary approach and innovative programming. Operating across three spaces in Kolkata and Mumbai, the gallery represents critically acclaimed international artists and champions dialogue and dissent in contemporary art. Beyond traditional exhibitions, Experimenter has developed diverse initiatives including the annual Curators' Hub, an artist-book publishing wing, and the Experimenter Learning Program. In 2020, they launched Experimenter Labs, an online platform expanding their reach. By fostering experimental practices and creating knowledge platforms, the gallery has established itself as a significant cultural incubator, pushing the boundaries of contemporary art practice in the region.
