About the Gallery
Carbon 12, established in Dubai in 2008 by Kourosh Nouri and Nadine Knotzer, is a pioneering contemporary art gallery with a firmly global program. Located in Alserkal Avenue, a vibrant cultural hub, it was the first gallery in the region to initiate such an internationally focused approach. Carbon 12 distinguishes itself by promoting both established and emerging artists, fostering a trans-regional dialogue that transcends geographical market trends. The gallery curates 6-8 exhibitions annually, complemented by publications and talks that engage the public and educational institutions. Their diverse roster of artists, including names like Philip Mueller, Sara Rahbar, and André Butzer, work across various mediums, challenging traditional narratives and pushing artistic boundaries. Carbon 12's commitment to intellectual exchange and community engagement has solidified its status as a premier destination for contemporary art in the Middle East.
